Amsterdam International Fashion Week: Lichting 2011 Lotte Mostert

After all the sad news, it's time for a good start. What's a better start than with a young, new designer? I know the answer: nothing! Let me introduce you Lotte Mostert. It's not that she's completely unknown, but defenietly one to watch.
What did she do already? What do you think about a internships at Haider Ackermann and Veronique Branquinho? And she was the best bachelor of 2011 of The Netherlands.
And now she made her debut at Amsterdam International Fashion Week with her collection That Makes The Inside Cover by the Lichting 2011 show, where the best academy graduates of 1 year show their collections. Lotte graduated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.

Amsterdam International Fashion Week: SIS by Spijkers & Spijkers

The sisters Spijkers had the honor to start Fashion Week with their second line SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers. They showed a collection called Bain du Soleil inspired by seaside visitors on the French coast and swimmers in the twenties with Marie Braun (Dutch first Olympic swimming champion) as their muse. I always love their simple and easy-to-wear clothes with graphic prints, zigzag patterns and stripes, and beautiful colors, like mintgreen, light pink, night blue and rusty orange. They used light and airy materials for an casual silhouette. The collection represents independence, passion and lifestyle and I like that!
Lovely, floral bathing caps
And of course...

Amsterdam International Fashion Week: Pauline van Dongen

Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW) has kicked off, yesterday to be precise. And I want to introduce you Pauline van Dongen. She showed us innovative shapes and techniques with her collection Kinetic Landscapes. But despite that the clothes are still wearable. This show made me really excited about her work! What about you?
